U Rimu su policajci zviždaljkama počeli da upozoravaju turiste da moraju da ustanu i napuste Španske stepenice, u skladu sa zabranom penjanja, stajanja ili sjedenja na spomenicima. Turistima je takođe zabranjeno da vuku svoje kofere po njima, a kazna za one koji krše pravila iznosi do 400 eura. Inače, Španske stepenice su prije tri godine obnovljene.
