Prvo putovanje za koje vam neće biti potrebni dokumenti, uključujući i pasoš, biće moguće već od sljedeće godine.
Svjetski Ekonomski Forum se udružio sa vladama Kanade i Holandije kako bi započeo test projekat putovanja „bez papira“.
Za test će biti neophodna tijesna saradnja graničnih policija, aerodroma, tehnoloških dobavljača i aviokompanija. Projekat koristi KDTI (Known Traveller Digital Identity) tehnologiju koja omogućava putnicima da urede svoj identitet u digitalnom obliku.
Kanada i Holandija će primjeniti pomenutu tehnologiju na izabranim aerodromima kako bi omogućili test fazu tokom ove godine, a prvo zvanično putovanje bez papira (paperless travel) trebalo bi da bude sprovedeno naredne godine.
Mobilni telefon umjesto pasoša
Putnici će moći da sve svoje podatke, koji se obično čuvaju na čipu biometrijskog pasoša, pohrane u svoj mobilni telefon. Oni će moći da upravljaju svojim podacima i da omogućavaju pristup nadležnim službama tokom putovanja.
Podaci će biti provjeravani više puta tokom samog putovanja, od polaznog do dolaznog aerodroma, a putnici neće morati sa sobom da nose papirni pasoš.
Na ovaj način se formira digitalan identitet koji će pojednostaviti komunikaciju sa administracijom, aviokompanijama i drugim partnerima.
Očekuje se da će broj putovanja do 2030. porasti na 1,8 milijardi što će biti dvostruko više nego 2016. Sadašnji sistem aerodromskih i pograničnih kontrola to neće moći da izdrži i zato je potrebno što prije pronaći nova rješenja koja će ublažiti taj pritisak.
Air Canada, KLM, aerodromi u Montrealu, Torontu i Amsterdamu će se priključiti vladama Kanade i Holandije u ovom pilot projektu. Tehnološki partner i savjetnik će biti kompanija Accenture, a pojedine tehnološke segmente obezbijediće kompanije Vision Box i Idemia.
