Od kada je pandemija Covid-19 pauzirala i „parkirala“ veliki broj letova, mnoge avio-kompanije dosjetile su se letova za nigdje. U Japanu, Singapuru i Australiji jednosatni ili dvosatni letovi mahom oko zemlje, sa povratkom na početni aerodrom postali su vrlo popularni među ljudima željnih avio-putovanja. Iako su mnogima ovakvi letovi zazvučali smiješno, oni su imali svoju bazu kupaca što je doprinjelo da se aktiviraju i letovi za razgledanje termoelektrane Černobil.
Letovi iznad Černobila trajaće sat i 10 minuta
U Ukrajini, nacionalna avio-kompanija Ukraine International odlučila je da pokrene letove iznad Černobila. U izjavi avio-kompanije stoji da je shodno „sve većim zahtjevima svojih voljenih putnika“ ponuditi „let za nigdje“ na maloj nadmorskoj visini iznad Kijeva i do zone katastrofe u Černobilu.
Prvi let iznad Černobila će se održati 7. marta i sva mjesta su već rasprodata. Novi let je planiran za 13. mart.
Putovanja će se obavljati avionom Embraer 195, avion će letjeti na nadmorskoj visini od 900 metara, iznad rijeke Dnjepar, prema Černobilu.
Černobilska zona i dalje ima značajnu količinu zračenja, ali izgleda da niko ne mari za mjere predostrožnosti. Trenutno nije poznato šta bi ovo moglo značiti za putnike aviona. Černobil je udaljen oko 100 kilometara sjeverno od Kijeva, odakle polazi let.
Za ljubitelje vazduhoplovstva, letjelica će letjeti i nad Državnim preduzećem Antonov koje se nalazi u blizini Kijeva, domom An-225 Mriya, najvećeg svjetskog aviona samo sa teretom.
Putovanje će prema predviđanjima trajati oko sat vremena i deset minuta. Cijena leta je oko 85 eura.
