Turistička industrija grada Jerusalim, teško je pogođena pandemijom korona virusa.

Sa preko 1.700 stanovnika koji su pozitivno testirani na COVID-19, Jerusalim predstavlja glavno žarište u Izraelu. Očekivanja su da grad sa preko milion stanovnika, zabilježi sve veći broj slučajeva.

U jeku vladinih direktiva koje su Izraelu nametnule totalno zatvaranje, ulice Jerusalima su opustošene, a turista nema.

Takve će sigurno biti još neko vrijeme, nakon odluke lokalnih vlasti da zabrani ture po gradu do decembra ove godine!

Nova mjera dodatno će oštetiti turističke igrače, ali i vlasnike trgovina i kafića.

5 miliona turista godišnje posjeti Jerusalim

Za grad koji je 2018. godine bio proglašen za jednu od najboljih turističkih destinacija svijeta i koji je tada posjetilo gotovo 5 miliona turista, teško je zamisliti da se turizam zaustavio.

Slične brojke zabilježene su i 2019., pa su se vlasti ponadale da će 2020. godina biti rekordna godina po broju turista.

Međutim, kao što je slučaj i u drugim zemljama, turizam je u Jerusalimu stavljen na naglu pauzu i tako će ostati sve dok situacija sa virusom ne prođe.

Prema riječima šefice turizma u Jerusalimskoj upravi za razvoj Ilanit Melchior, šteta koju je izazvala pandemija toliko je velika da se može vidjeti golim okom. Međutim, još uvijek je teško definisati koliki je gubitak tačno nastao, jer grad i dalje bilježi veliku štetu.

Za industriju koja predstavlja oko 20.000 radnih mjesta, 2.000 preduzeća i doprinosi ekonomiji sa preko 360 miliona dolara godišnje, nova stvarnost je vrlo uznemirujuća.

Uprkos trenutnim okolnostima, Melchior smatra da ovo neće pretjerano opteretiti vlasti s obzirom na to da su bile u sličnoj situaciji tokom Drugog ustanka početkom 2000-ih. Tada je zabilježen veliki pad broja turista, zbog palestinskih terorističkih napada.

U međuvremenu, turistička industrija na čelu sa Melchiorom pokrenula je projekat pod nazivom „Jerusalim putuje ka tebi“.

Izrael nema stabilnu vladu više od godine dana, jer nijedna stranka nije dobila parlamentarnu većinu, ni nakon trećih izbora u martu. Na tim izborima 2. marta Benjamin Netanyahu je proglasio pobjedu. Njegova stranka Likud osvojila je tada najviše poslaničkih mjesta, njih 36, u izraleskom Knessetu koji broji 120 poslanika. Od tada, Benjamin učestvuje u raznim pregovorima za koaliciju, ali vlade još nema na vidiku.
